In May 2014, the Southeast Steuben Library faced a crucial vote on a long-term funding model – the failure of which would have resulted in heavy budget cuts, meaning the loss of staff and services. The previous year’s vote had met with failure.
CreAgent Marketing was retained to promote the value of the community library to influence voter turnout and generate “yes” votes. We created a multi-faceted broadcast television, print, and social media campaign. Our creative concept emphasized many lesser-known services of the library and leveraged community and volunteer-based resources to maximize limited budget resources.
Sixty percent of voters chose “yes,” a victory for our client and the community. Based on the successful campaign, CreAgent Marketing has garnered attention from one of the largest national library organizations, EveryLibrary.org, to undertake similar campaigns for library districts around the country.
